Introducing Nurture and Bloom

At The Fourth, we’ve always believed that 'it takes a village' to raise a child. But we also know that sometimes, that village needs to feel a little smaller, a little quieter, and a lot more supportive.

Being a new parent is a whirlwind. While there are moments of joy, there can also be moments of deep exhaustion, low mood, and anxiety. For those navigating perinatal mental health challenges or under the care of a specialist team, baby groups can sometimes feel a bit overwhelming. That’s why we are so delighted to offer Nurture and Bloom.

What is Nurture and Bloom?

Nurture and Bloom is a smaller, more intimate offshoot of our main Nurture and Nest sessions, specifically designed for parents of babies aged 0–1 who are experiencing low mood or are under perinatal mental health care.

The weekly group, hosted at the Family Hub in Newton Abbot, is entirely relaxed and relationship-focused. You don’t need to worry if you’re running late, if your baby is crying, or if you just don’t feel like 'joining in'. We are here to provide a safe harbour where you can simply be.

Facilitated by Frankie, who is trained as a perinatal mental health peer support worker, the group will provide a low-pressure, safe space for you to feel supported and connected with others.

What we hope to achieve

Our goal isn't to 'fix' anyone. Instead, we want to build community-led support where:

  • You feel seen: Connecting with others who truly get it can lift the weight of isolation.

  • Pressure is removed: There are no expectations. Just come as you are.

  • Relationships grow: We focus on the bond between you and your baby, and the friendships between the parents in the room.

  • Confidence is nurtured: Taking that first step out of the house can be daunting; we want this to be the easiest door you walk through all week.

If you’re struggling right now, please know that you aren’t alone. We’d love to hold a space for you in our circle. We can’t wait to see you at Nurture and Bloom.

How to join us

To keep the group small and ensure everyone feels safe and supported, we manage attendance through a simple referral process. Whether you refer yourself or have been referred by your GP, Health Visitor, or the Perinatal Mental Health Team, complete the form below

Once we receive your details, one of our friendly team will give you a gentle call or send a message to say hello, answer any questions you have, and talk you through what to expect at your first session.
